“A bear went for a walk and met a woman with gray hair who was collecting stones and wondering
about her future.” In this fable of renewal, an encounter between a bear and an old woman who
believes she has nothing reveals a surprising fortune. The paintings presented in accordion book
form follow the path of a woodland creek and also the unfolding of spring. The back of the
accordion shows prints of wild flowers taken from the paintings. Story and original paintings
by Johanne Renbeck.
